“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7

Purpose

Overflow Chat is a UK-based Christian blog which aims to equip and encourage Christian women and girls to live for Christ in a secular culture. We believe that the Bible is true and relevant, and in a culture of post-truth, we want to equip women to understand what they believe and why they believe it. We want them to be confident in sharing the gospel in whatever circumstances they are in, to be rooted in Christ and to see what it looks like to live for him.

The contributors on this blog come from different backgrounds and are all at different life stages, yet they have this in common – a love for Jesus and a desire to make him known. The articles shared will be an overflow of their different lived life experiences; stories of God’s work in their own lives, but ultimately pointing to the greatest story, the one the bible tells, found in the person of Jesus.

On this blog you will find content with a focus on gospel living, evangelism and theology and a teens section. Why not have a read at some of the articles, share some of them and sign up to the newsletter so that you do not miss out on any published content. You can also follow the Instagram page for more regular mini blogs and videos and the Facebook page.

Founder – Inonge Siluka

I am a Zambian Scot currently working for a cancer charity. Outside of work, I founded two Christian charities that work together to support abuse survivors in the church in Zambia: Restored Hope Zambia and Restored Hope Zambia UK. I love Jesus and I am also passionate about justice. Having come to faith at a young age in Zambia, I really wrestled with the big questions when I moved to Scotland, and in the end found the Christian worldview to be true and good. I am a member of Greenview Church in Glasgow, where I also serve in the youth ministry.

I love learning more about Jesus and wrestling with difficult topics relating to the Christian faith. After graduating from university, I went on to do some discipleship training for a year followed by bible handling training with Cornhill Scotland. When I am not working, I enjoy playing hockey and laughing with friends, usually with real food involved.

Why did I decide to start the blog?

Well, one thing led to another really. I initially started my Overflow Chat YouTube channel out of a desire to share all the theology I was learning, and I called it Overflow Chat because my content was really just an overflow of real life conversations and learning. The blog is just another way of sharing helpful content with a specific focus. I am passionate about teaching the bible and evangelism, this combines these two passions. I decided to bring along some other women with the same passion to share the good news of Jesus and their experiences, you can read more about them below.
